Pregnancy lasts for most women 40 weeks. It is considered that a pregnancy is on time between 37 weeks and 42 weeks. Birth before 37 weeks is a premature birth.
The lower the age of pregnancy at birth, the greater the risks for the fetus. After 42 weeks, the pregnancy is considered post-term or exceeded.
It has been observed that in girls over 42 weeks of age, the risk of intrauterine death is higher as the pregnancy is removed from term.
