The passionate art of telling his story Hans Christian Andersen fascinates children for over a hundred years. Published in 1843 together with three other stories, among which is the Privilege, the ugly Ratusca is one of his best known creations, sometimes regarded as an autobiographical work. The Ratusca ugly illustration workshop is held in two sessions, on Saturdays and Sundays, January 18 and 19, 2014, starting at 10.00 and is organized by Global Mindscape and Dianei 4.
During the two meetings, children between the ages of 6 and 10 will become acquainted with the ugly weasel and the rest of the storytellers (the mother rat, the poultry, the hunting dog, her swans), will discuss the adventures of the ratfish, they will draw them and design a cover for their own illustrated story. To better understand the story as well as its author, we will look at excerpts from the cartoon Ratusca the ugly one and listen to the song The Ugly Duckling from the film Hans Christian Andersen.
Last but not least, we will look for answers to questions together such as: Why were the poultry so rude? or What would have happened if the brothers and sisters of the rat had supported her and had not left home? Finally, we will imagine how the life of the ratustus continued, becoming in the meantime a beautiful swan.
The two meetings are held on the days of:
- Saturday, January 18, 2014, starting at 10.00
- Sunday, January 19, 2014, starting at 10.00
