A doctor from the university hospital in the Finnish city of Turku found that in the case of acute otitis, the fault is divided between bacteria and viruses in 66 percent of cases. This would explain why many children do not feel any improvement after antibiotic treatment and why others get rid of the disease without following such treatment.
